Frances Frey, Executive Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness
Welcoming Trinity’s New Director of IRE
Frances Frey named executive director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness

This fall, Frances Frey took over the position of executive director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Trinity University. Frey brings more than 20 years of research experience to this role.

“I’m thrilled to have Frances leading Trinity’s incredibly talented IRE team," says Megan Mustain, Ph.D., provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. "Her experience and expertise is invaluable. More than that, the fact that she’s here because she wants to be a part of what we’re doing and becoming means that she will not only do excellent work that makes us better—Frances will help us become more fully and clearly Trinity."

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) collects and analyzes University data in order to better serve the Trinity community. Mustain emphasizes that “IRE helps us to take calculated risks and, crucially, learn what worked and discover how to fix what didn’t.”

Before joining the Trinity team, Frey worked as senior research analyst and director of research at Enrollment Research Associates. She also conducted institutional research at Our Lady of the Lake University and at Northeast Lakeview College.

In her role as director of IRE, Frey plans “to support the people and structures that are already in place and look for opportunities to make data even more accessible and usable,” whether that be through analyzing means of student success, or collaborating with the wider Trinity community.

Frey earned her master’s degree in social psychology at Boston College and her bachelor’s degree in psychology and French at Scripps College.

“I believe wholeheartedly in the transformational power of a liberal arts education,” Frey says. “I have experienced it, and I know first-hand that the education Trinity provides prepares graduates to pursue lives of meaning and purpose. I am proud to be a part of making that experience available to our students.”
